When I think of anxiety my heart starts to race, my hands tingle, my thoughts speed up and I suddenly feel very alert. Sound familiar? We all feel anxiety to some degree, some of us more than others. Common symptoms of anxiety are insomnia, heart palpitations, stomach issues, obsessive thoughts, social fears and depression.
Sometimes anxiety can be a messenger for change. Anxiety is an activating sensation telling us that something is not okay. There are two parts of dealing with anxiety: managing the symptoms and dealing with the emotional life underneath them. Together, in therapy, we will find ways for you to experience less anxiety and enjoy your life more. I use a blend of mindfulness techniques, cognitive therapy and body-based resourcing to help you return to your most comfortable self.
